I first bought Barbara's book, Homemade Money, back in the 1980's and it quickly became my favorite resource for the crafts business I had started back then. I also have "Handmade for Profit" and "Creative Cash", other wonderful books full of handy hints and ways to manage your craft business. Now Barbara has just put the finishing touches on her new two-volume edition of Homemade Money which I am very happy to review.
Barbara has really outdone herself with this new set! As I sat down to read the first volume, "Starting Smart", I immediately noticed the way Barbara leaves 'no stone unturned' with each subject she covers. She takes you by-the-hand through each step of the way, from selecting your home business right through to time management tips. Also interspersed throughout each volume are Barbara's "Smart Tips", or handy hints she has learned over the years. She ends this volume with an in depth list of valuable resources and an "A-to-Z Crash Course in Home Business Basics with sections such as Consumer Safety Laws, Shopping for Low-Rate Credit Cards and Mail Order Laws.
Barbara's second volume, "Bringing in the Bucks" picks up where the first volume left off, covering such subjects as addressing lack-of-space problems, marketing without money and follow-up marketing strategies - making an offer they can't refuse.
All-in-all, I was very impressed with Barbara's new books - they are well-worth the read if you are thinking of starting up a home business or already have one - her two-volume edition is a powerful success tool you can't afford to be without!
