as I have drawing them. They are designed to bring a giggle or a sigh
and will surely be a special and uniquely personal gift, one that will
be treasured by all.

The Artist
Heather Diodati has been drawing, painting and crafting since she was "knee-high to a grasshopper".
At the age when
all little girls want to be ballerinas or nurses when they grow up,
whenever someone asked Heather what she wanted to be she always said,
without blinking an eye, a fashion illustrator.
Always off somewhere with her materials and artpad in tow, she grew up
to be a Jack, 'er Jill of all trades in the artworld from cartooning to
fashion design; tole painting to fine art and even stained glass at one
time (but had to stop as she was cutting her fingers to shreds!).
Heather is basically a self-taught artist having no true formal art
schooling except for a smidgen of fine art training and a pinch of
training in different types of crafts.
After a number of years sketching, painting and crafting, Heather
decided to create her own line of whimsical characters. These are
incorporated into the comical cartoon designs she
creates for personalization; all her little Pet Computer Viruses (a
computer novelty designed to bring a bit of comic relief to computer
users), the various computer novelties she has to offer, and her
monthly comic strip page starring The Pixels Family
Heather has always been an avid people-watcher and has re-created many
of life's comical moments in cartoon form. She has had many
opportunities to observe people by being co-owner/assistant D.J./light
engineer and computer operator (phew! What a mouth-full!) for a disk
jockey service, by owning a personalized banner service (special
occasion banners created by computer) and delivering them with Heather
clad in a clown suit, with a little electronic robot assisting her (!);
by being a competitive ballroom dancer (there, you're talking animated
cartoons. Some of the things you'd see on the dance floor and in the
dressing rooms were enough to send a budding cartoonist off for her
drawing tablet!) See our About Us page.
Heather's creative work includes:
* The many personalized designs she offers on her website in the form of matted prints, magnets and keychains as well as novelties for computer lovers
* Over 50 designs for Café Press which are printed onto a variety of
products including t-shirts, mugs, mousepads and much more.

* Freelance cartoon work for a tai chi newsletter
* Monthly comic strip, The Pixels
* Many commissioned and original creations sold all over America and
Europe
* Articles of various topics published by many ezine owners, website
owners, as well as on the About.com Small Business Canada website
* Her Pet Computer Virus designs have been featured in several newspapers. Note: it seems that after a number of years they clean up their archives and the article is no longer there :-(

Heather can be found at her studio worktable facing a sparkling lake.
just a "stones throw" from her studio window. She works feverishly at
her project of the moment amidst the soothing background sounds of the
lake water, the wind rustling through the trees, the many varied bird
conversations in the backyard and the soft chirps from her budgies,
Sunny and Snowy.
Very passionate about her work, and about her wonderful husband Ron who has been very
supportive and helpful in all her endeavours, she has a way of expressing herself
through her whimsically humorous designs. Each cartoon is an original
work, a labor of love from the heart. A personalized cartoon is a
treasured gift, perfect for the person who has everything. Heather
loves to work with her customers/friends in order to create a
one-of-a-kind personalized gift for that special person in their lives
and she truly enjoys knowing that one of her designs has brought a
giggle or a smile to someone's lips.
The new Whimsies automobile: After carefully researching to find the right car to represent our Whimsical line of cartoons, here it is! Isn't it the cutest thing???
Just perfect for delivering our personalized cartoons and Pet Virus orders all around town, this little two-seater Smart Car (built in Hambach, France and sold by Mercedez-Benz) sports an in-line, three-cylinder turbo diesel engine, it delivers 40 hp (haha, Ron's boat motor has more hp!), 74 lb-ft of torque, and consumes a scant 4.2 litres of diesel fuel per 100 km, combined highway and city (in other words, this little putt-putt will burn approximately 1.1 gallons of gas in 62 miles!). It has a top speed of 135 km/h, or approximately 84 mph (oh well, guess I'll have to tone it down a little!)
